There is not a single soul left amongst us, the ones who possess quality of taste and an eye for fashion, who’s heart does not tremble with anticipation for the new season of Bridgerton. The dresses, the jewels, the love stories and of course, the hair styles…
As one of the Bridgerton girls put it: “I feel like a princess. Do I look like one?”
One cannot help to notice that one accessory that takes any style to the next level is a well-chosen hairband (or tiara, for the duchesses that we are). From time immemorial, they were worn not just to enhance the beauty of the owner, but to symbolize status, power and wealth. Prehistoric princesses buried with intricate head jewellery, Roman aristocrats holding their hair with vine leaves and grapes made of gold, Egyptian queen-goddesses with blue and yellow head bands, Renaissance muses painted with delicate ornaments of precious stones, French comtesses with enormous wigs and fantastical adornments… one thing is clear: if you want to stand out from the crowd, to feel and to look special, a hairband is the must have accessory.
Simpler styles, for casual outings, or embroidered with gems and made of silk, a tiara will never go out of fashion, beloved by everybody for their versatility, practicality and style. It can take an outfit from day to night, from work to play, from blah to va -va-voom.
It is the absolute confidence of this writer that any woman should wear a tiara at least once, because, as the Duke of Hastings swooningly once said: “ You deserve everything your heart desires”.

Nu mai există niciun suflet printre noi, cei care posedăm calitatea gustului și un ochi pentru modă, al cărui inimă să nu tremure de nerăbdare pentru noul sezon din Bridgerton. Rochiile, bijuteriile, poveștile de dragoste și, bineînțeles, coafurile…
Așa cum a spus una dintre fetele Bridgerton: „Mă simt ca o prințesă. Arăt ca una?”
Nu poți să nu observi că accesoriul care duce orice stil la un alt nivel este o bentiță bine aleasă (sau o tiară, pentru ducesa care suntem). Din timpuri imemoriale, acestea nu au fost purtate doar pentru a spori frumusețea posesoarei, ci și pentru a simboliza statutul, puterea și bogăția. Prințesele preistorice îngropate cu bijuterii capilare complicate, aristocrații romani care își țineau părul cu frunze de viță de vie și struguri din aur, reginele-zeițe egiptene cu bentițe albastre și galbene, muzele Renașterii pictate cu ornamente delicate din pietre prețioase, contesele franceze cu peruci uriașe și podoabe fantastice… un lucru este clar: dacă vrei să te remarci din mulțime, să te simți și să arăți specială, o bentiță este accesoriul absolut necesar.
Stiluri mai simple, pentru ieșiri casual, sau brodate cu pietre prețioase și realizate din mătase, tiara nu va ieși niciodată din modă, fiind iubită de toată lumea pentru versatilitatea, practicitatea și stilul ei. Poate transforma o ținută de zi într-una de seară, de muncă în distracție, de „meh” în „wow”.
Este convingerea absolută a acestui scriitor că orice femeie ar trebui să poarte o tiară măcar o dată, pentru că, așa cum a spus ducele de Hastings cu admirație: „Meriți tot ce îți dorește inima”.
